We departed on July 30, 2013 at 15:00 from Victoria harbour on the BC Orca.  This eco-friendly vessel is currently the cleanest outboard zodiac with a single Yamaha V8 350Hp engine and offers an incredibly raw experience! We encountered BCY0324 aka ‘Big Mama / Heather’ southwest of Race Rocks swimming near two other British Columbia summer resident humpback whales.   Big Mama was first sighted in British Columbia 14 years ago and was seen in 2004 with a calf.
